Do your ears itch for something other than Truth? Truth can sometimes be hard to swallow, but whether we can handle the Truth is of no consequence. It will always remainđđ˝The Truth. Truth is like a beacon to a ship lost at sea. The black sky is filled with blowing winds & rain falling sideways &, even though the dark night is suddenly lit by lightning, the sailors canât determine due North. When we see Truth like a lighthouse beacon, an overwhelming sense of peace surfaces as we realize the safety it brings! Paul warns, âA time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound & wholesome teaching. They will follow their desires & will look for teachers who will tell them what theyâre itching ears want to hear. They will reject truth...â 2 Timothy 3:3-4 Turning a deaf ear to Truth can give a temporary sense of peaceâŚkinda like when a kid hides under a kitchen table & thinks, âI canât see you, so you canât see me!âđł Truth is held in the person-hood of Jesus Christ. His Word dispels darkness & sheds light on the rocky boulders & sandbars thatâll cause our lives to run aground & smash to pieces! Where are you turning a deaf ear to Truth? Maybe there is: đđ˝A political stance or cultural ideology that sounds right, but doesnât align with Truth? đđ˝A seemingly small thing like what you watch on Netflix or listen to on Spotify even though it doesnât align with Truth? đđ˝OR maybe you chose a church that doesnât speak the WHOLE Truth so your itching ears can hear what they wanna hear?đŹ Regardless of what it may be, we all have to become wary of turning a deaf ear to Truth for there will come a time when weâll stand at heavens gates to give an account for âliving our truthâ. My heart aches knowing that there may be many whoâll declare, âJesus is my Lord!â And to their great dismay, although they turned a deaf ear to Truth, Truth will turn to them & say: âNot everyone who calls out to me, âLord! Lord!â will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.â Mt. 7:22 I exhort you to no longer turn a deaf ear to Truth in the big & seemingly small! Where can you let the Spirit of Truth lead you into ALL Truth today?
